This One’s for Norman
Before Blue Dog Adventures was a company, there was just a blue dog named Norman. He came into my life in my late 20s and stayed by my side through my late 30s. Twelve years of growing up, changing, starting over, getting lost, finding my way, and living more than a few different versions of life.
Through all of it, Norman was the constant.
We lived on a farm in Northern California. We lived by the beach in Mexico. We wandered trails, explored new places, crossed borders, and eventually found our way to Whitefish for his final year.
He was the surest thing I’ve ever known—that somehow, out of all the dogs and all the people in this world, we had been made for each other.
We knew each other so completely that a look was sometimes all it took. I knew what he was thinking, and I swear he could read my mind.
When I lost him last year, I knew there would never be another Norman. But I also knew I didn’t want the life we shared to simply end there. That is where Blue Dog Adventures really began.
It carries his name, but more importantly, it carries the way he taught me to see a dog’s life: they deserve to explore, to run, to sniff, to get dirty, to see new places, to feel the sun on their faces, and to have adventures alongside the people who love them.
So every dog I pick up, every trail we wander, every new smell we stop for, and every tired, happy dog I bring home carries a little piece of him with it.
Blue Dog Adventures is my way of keeping our adventure going.

Safety & Peace of Mind
Safety comes first on every adventure. Each dog wears a dedicated GPS-tracking collar, providing added security while allowing us to track their distance and exercise more accurately. Dogs remain leashed during their first several hikes while we build trust, learn their trail habits, and establish reliable recall. Blue Dog Adventures is fully insured, so you can feel confident your dog is in responsible, caring hands.
You’ll never be left wondering. We’ll notify you when we arrive for pickup and again when your dog is safely home. Afterward, we’ll send photos from the day’s adventure so you can see the trails, smiles, and tail-wagging fun for yourself.
